Imani entered the Youth Program as a single mother looking for assistance to start her career pathway. After completing a career assessment, Imani knew that she wanted a career working in an office. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to be in a business or medical office setting. Imani was enrolled in our 10 week Work Based Learning program and successfully completed her paid-internship. She worked at a local Security Company, SecureMedy in Waldorf, MD. The career readiness training she received through our program assisted her with the skills and training needed to enter the workforce. After completing the internships Imani decided that the medical field would be her career path. Her case manager did some research on trainings, and found an opportunity for Imani to take a Five Week Certified Nursing Assistant and Geriatric Nursing Assistant Program at no cost. Imani received the no cost training through Fort Washington Health and Rehabilitation Center. With this certificate, Imani was successfully hired on November 12, 2017 with Forestville Health and Rehab Center at the rate of $14.00 hour. Congratulations to Imani for successfully receiving her certificate for completing the program.
